Loretta joined our team in March 2018 and we are delighted to welcome her to The Conference and Events Venue family.
SO LET’S GET TO KNOW HER…
Can you give us a brief summary of your career to date?
I have worked in the event industry for the past four years. Before joining The Conference and Events at the Mansion House team, I worked mostly with Medical professionals on conferences and Mental Health awareness events in The Psychological Society of Ireland.
What was it about the Events Industry that attracted you?
I love meeting people who share a passion for what they do and working in an environment that allows you to be creative and watch your ideas come to life.
What does a typical day as an Event Coordinator at The Conference and Events Venue look like?
Every day in CEV presents new and exciting challenges, whether it be meeting with new or existing clients, brainstorming ideas or overseeing the setup and being on site throughout an event.
What are you most looking forward to in your new position?
I am looking forward to working with a wide variety of events, which allows freedom of creativity.
What do you find most challenging in your role?
Familiarising myself with all of the resources available in CEV.
What do you find most rewarding?
Working and meeting new people who share similar passions.
What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?
Changing careers is a personal or professional achievement to date. It was a risk but one that has paid off. Prior to Event Management, I was a Store Manager in a retail clothing store, I enjoyed my job and worked my way up. I had a great team around me but I knew this wasn’t for me long term so took the plunge and went back to college. I am now in the job I love!!
If you could work any event in the world what would it be?
I would work the Academy Awards. I have always loved The Oscars.
Is there a motto or personal mantra you live your life by?
I’m a huge fan of the film ‘Gone with the Wind’…”After all, tomorrow is another day.”
